Welcome to SOUTHERN CROSS ALPACAS, INC.
The name of our farm comes from a small, but beautiful constellation in the shape of a cross. Its name is Crux and is located very close to the constellation Centauras. Explorers of the Southern Hemisphere used Crux to guide them when sailing and to figure out which direction to sail without getting lost.
As the Southern Cross is the smallest, but brightest constellation, we at Southern Cross Alpacas, Inc. hope to be the brightest and to shine above and beyond our greatest expectations. Our goal is to raise an excellent huacaya herd with the best fiber, health and genetics possible. We guarantee that all of our animals are sound breeders with the best genetics to be found.
Our main farm is located in Hayesville, North Carolina, with our smaller farm located in Summerfield just outside of Ocala used for training. Ocala is the race horse capital of the United States. Alpacas won't be the only residents at our Summerfield farm though, we also have a pony, horse, pig, llama, two goats, and a cat. Oh, and let's not forget the Jack Russell Bones, he runs the show.
Alpacas are one of God's most enchanting creatures. Our love for animals and the alpaca's beauty is what started our desire to raise alpacas. The beauty of the alpaca is just one of the many benefits of owning alpacas. It is a complete lifestyle change, both family friendly and financially rewarding, and needless to say, the joy they bring from just being around these amazing animals.
