We're One of the Largest Huacaya Farms in the Greater Cincinnati Area!
Located just East of Cincinnati, on 27 peaceful country acres, Redwood Ranch Alpacas eagerly awaits to introduce you to the alpaca lifestyle! With 30 alpacas currently being raised on our farm, and 15 more due in 2008, we are home to one of the largest Huacaya farms in the Greater Cincinnati area. With several years of experience, we have embraced all aspects of the business including showing, training, breeding, birthing, herd health, and pasture management. Best of all we are here to share our experiences, help to answer your questions, and to guide you towards being a successful alpaca breeder. We might even be able to help you relieve some of that "I just need to cuddle with a cute alpaca" tension, with a kiss from our always popular B-16 or Jellybean!
Our breeding program focuses on a mixture of full Peruvian and Accoyo Huacaya alpacas of color with outstanding fleece and confirmational characteristics. Our breeding stock has some of the largest Huacaya names in their heritages, and both our Dams and our Herdsires have placed numerously in AOBA certified alpaca shows. Our breeding decisions are carefully made by assessing each dam individually and selecting a complementary Sire in order to produce the best crias possible. Thus far our breeding program has been highly successful, and this year's crias are no different, as they already display incredible fleece, and perfect confirmation. It will be a joy to see these crias compete in upcoming alpaca shows!
Redwood Ranch Alpacas is a fully operational alpaca farm, and other than sales and breeding services, we also offer a variety of boarding, microchipping, consignment, and training services. To show our customer appreciation, we offer multiple breeding discounts, package deals, and a Customer Referral and Reward Program. As always we offer free consultation in all aspects of the alpaca business!
As an attempt to further educate the local alpaca community, we have held Alpaca 101 seminars, and we were recently able to host Dr. Cheryl Dewitt's extremely informative Neonatal Clinic. Typically we participate in 5 or 6 local events to further alpaca awareness in the Greater Cincinnati area. We are currently members of AOBA, OABA,ALSA, and Alpacas in the USA.
