True Black alpacas are coveted for good reason. Their fiber is highly prized, and Shadow Dancer's is no exception.

At a year and a half old, her AFD (avg. fiber diameter) was just 20.9 (outstanding for the darkest of alpacas!). At 2.5, her AFD was only 25.0 microns, but in '06 is tested slightly finer, at 24.8, showing she holds onto that soft handle into her life as a production dam. In 2007, after multiple crias, her AFD is just 28.7.

Shadow Dancer is a tall and slender, well-proportioned daughter of the famed Sinopsis Nocturna. She's got a strong constitution, which is something all breeders value, and she's "double black," which means she's out of two true black parents.

Shadow Dancer has always been a very careful and attentive mother. Like most alpacas, she is wisely cautious and protective of her cria, but not hyper about it. Shadow Dancer is rock steady, pays attention to all that's around her, and teaches her offspring well.

From True Black bloodlines, and when bred to black, she will likely throw black. Her last 2 crias were pattern, as she was bred to Wendy's patterned herdsire, ABA Accoyo Pegasus. Shadow Dancer is now bred to her fawn herdsire, Lincoln's George (a Camilio/Timoteo grandson) for a May 2008 cria.
