Dark Knight is a rare, dark son of the legendary Peruvian Drambuie. There are only 2 dark male offspring sired by Drambuie in the United States. Drambuie was THE foundation herdsire for Snowmass Alpacas &, interestingly, he is also the sire of Snowmass Nova's dam.
Dark Knight is a Color Champion & has proven his excellence with Blue Ribbons.
Dark Knight has an exceptionally soft hand & luster to his fleece, even at 10 yrs of age. The scarcity of guard hair is amazing! He has maintained superlative fiber. A micron of 25.6 in '04 at age 7, despite his experience as a breeding male, is impressive. His CV's ranging from 19.5 to 21.8 indicates great uniformity. He has EXCELLENT fiber, coverage & conformation.
Dark Knight has sired multiple Color Champions & Blue Ribbon winning offspring, all in Level III to Level V AOBA sanctioned shows. They began to hit the show circuit in 2003, & have taken in ribbon after ribbon after ribbon. Of the offspring shown? 12 1st Place Ribbons & 4 Color Championships!
Dark Knight has sired over 27 offspring & has never failed to improve on the dam. His cria tend to inherit his dense topknot, fiber to the toes, fuzzy ears, short nose, & crimpy fine uniform fiber with great lock structure. They are mostly darker than the color of the dam. He's sired 1 white out of 22 offspring, even when bred to white. His offspring tend to display his excellent temperament. He's a real gentleman.
