Our Peruvian Halo's Angel of RDWD - Awesome Fleece

We always knew that there was something about Angel's Dam, Halo, that made her special. The delivery of her first cria has now proved this to be true! By breeding our 1/2 Accoyo foundation female Halo, to 1/4 Accoyo Shazaam, a sire known for his stunning fleece structure...we have been able to produce one awesome show girl!

Halo's Angel is a Full Peruvian, light/medium fawn mix with 3/8 Accoyo gentics. Her lineage boasts Accoyo Don Quijote (the sire of our 9 time 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbon winning herdsire B-16), Accoyo Royal Fawn (sold for a then all time high auction price of $600,000), and Accoyo Royal Apollo a 9-time undefeated color champion and one of Royal Fawn's best sons!

Delivered just before 8:30 on a sunny Sunday morning, Halo's Angel made her grand appearence into the world. Weighing a good 18.4 lbs, she quickly figured out how to push herself up onto her wobbly legs and eagerly examine her surroundings. Soon thereafter she was following her mother around the stall like a magnet and discovering the joys of nursing.

The first thing we noticed about Halo's Angel was her inheritance of Halo's prominant white neck "halo". This was the very marking that made us fall in love with her Dam(we even used her image for our logo), and the marking that we were secretly hoping would show up in her crias. Of course the white ring of fleece made naming this cria simple...she would just have to be called, "Halo's Angel".

But now that her once wet cria fleece is dry...something else has quickly stolen our attention! Characterized by hundreds of bundled curly-qued corkscrews, Angel's fleece structure is simply stunning! As she ventures out into the field and into the sunlight, her fleece displays wonderful luster and brightness, and her density and coverage are awesome. Her topknot looks great, as does her overall confirmation, and gorgeous typey head. Wow, and take a look at her month old fleece! Simply Stunning.
